Privacy Notice

Last updated: 22 April 2026

Who we are

Callisham Farm is a small bed-and-breakfast run by Esmé Wills at Callisham Farm, Meavy, Yelverton, Devon PL20 6PS. In data-protection terms we are the "controller" of any personal information you give us through this website, by phone or by email.

If you have any questions about this notice or how we handle your information, email esme@callisham.co.uk or phone 01822 853901.

What we collect

  • Enquiry details — your name, email address, phone number (if you give one), preferred room, dates, number of guests and the message you send us.
  • Booking details — the information above plus anything we need to run the stay, for example dietary requirements, mobility notes or the name of a travelling companion.
  • Technical information — anonymised site-usage data collected by Cloudflare Web Analytics (page visits, rough location by country, browser type). This does not use cookies and does not identify individuals.

We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell or share your data for marketing.

Why we use it (lawful basis)

  • To reply to your enquiry and run your booking — this is our legitimate interest (and, once you have booked, the performance of our contract with you).
  • To keep accounting records — this is a legal obligation under UK tax law.
  • To understand how the website is used — this is our legitimate interest in running a useful site, done in a privacy-friendly way with cookieless analytics.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry emails for up to 12 months in case you come back to us. Booking records are kept for up to 7 years to meet tax and accounting rules, then deleted. Anonymised analytics data is retained by Cloudflare under their published policy.

Who sees it

Only Esmé and the people helping run the farm see your details. We use a small number of trusted service providers to deliver the website and email — currently Cloudflare (hosting, analytics) and MailChannels (email delivery). They act on our instructions and cannot use your data for their own purposes.

International transfers

Some of our service providers process data outside the UK. Where that happens we rely on UK-approved safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Addendum.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, or to object to our using it. Email esme@callisham.co.uk and we'll reply within one month.

If you're not happy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
