Callisham Farm Dartmoor Bed & Breakfast

Stays

Two ways to stay with us.

A traditional bed & breakfast in the farmhouse, or a self-catering caravan with its own garden. Both look out onto the same Dartmoor meadow.

The Loveton Room at Callisham Farm, with a traditional double bed and a window looking out over open fields

The Loveton Room

A light, bright south-facing double with views over open fields to Callisham Tor — tucked around the corner at the top of the stairs and always a favourite with regular guests.

Tucked around the corner at the top of the stairs, the Loveton Room has been a favourite with our regular guests for years. It’s light, it’s bright, and south-facing so the morning sun pours across the fields straight through the window.

You’ll find a double bed made up with feather and hollow-fibre pillows, two comfortable armchairs for a quiet read, a bedside table with a lamp on each side, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe. The en-suite shower room is right next door.

  • South-facing double with field views
  • En-suite shower room
  • Tea and coffee tray
  • Flat-screen TV
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Central heating

£90–£100 / night

The Roost Box at Callisham Farm, a cosy double bedroom with traditional furnishings

The Roost Box

A cosy south-facing double that can also be let as a single — a warm, characterful room with views towards Callisham Tor.

The Roost Box is our snug double — characterful, warm, and perfect for solo walkers who want a little more room to spread out. It can be made up as a double or a single depending on who’s staying.

Like the Loveton, it’s south-facing onto the fields, with an en-suite shower room, tea and coffee tray, flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. The feather and hollow-fibre pillows make it easy to sleep after a long day on the moor.

  • South-facing double (also let as single)
  • En-suite shower room
  • Tea and coffee tray
  • Flat-screen TV
  • Free Wi-Fi

Self-catering in the meadow

If you'd rather cook for yourself.

The Cosy Caravan

A self-catering caravan tucked into a quiet corner of the farm, with its own enclosed garden overlooking the meadow and everything you need for a relaxed stay in the Meavy valley.

The caravan sits on its own in a quiet spot on the working farm — a short walk from the village of Meavy, with the Royal Oak on the green and the open moor within easy reach. Unlike the rooms in the farmhouse, this is a self-catering stay; you cook your own meals and come and go as you please.

The caravan has a comfortable double room, a small bathroom next door, and a galley kitchen with everything you need for cooking — oven and grill, microwave, a good-sized fridge with a small freezer. The lounge has a small dining table that extends. The sofa can be made up as a single bed if you’d rather not share the double.

Outside there’s a designated garden with views over the meadow, an outdoor dining area, and private parking. Check-in is by lockbox so you can arrive on your own schedule.

The historic market town of Tavistock is a short drive for shops, pubs and coffee. There are walks and cycle rides starting straight from the gate, right into the heart of the National Park.

  • Self-catering — not B&B
  • Private enclosed garden with views over the meadow
  • Full galley kitchen (oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster)
  • Double bedroom with extra pillows and blankets
  • Small, well-equipped shower room
  • Freeview TV, Wi-Fi, central heating
  • Outdoor dining area & free parking
  • Self check-in via lockbox

£85–£110 / night
