The granite exterior of Callisham Farm on a bright morning, with a garden gate and stone walls

Peace and quiet, properly countrified.

Callisham Farm is a traditional granite and stone farmhouse set in the pretty valley of Meavy, deep inside Dartmoor National Park. We're a working family hill farm, surrounded by woodland, babbling brooks and some of the best walking country in the south-west.

It's a base for walkers, cyclists, anglers, golfers and anyone who wants to explore the coasts of Devon and Cornwall without staying in a town. Plymouth's just 12 miles south, and Tavistock 7 miles north.

Dappled light through the trees in Callisham Woods, a short walk from the farmhouse

The valley

An easy morning walk into Callisham Woods.

After breakfast, step straight out into our woodland — dappled light, a babbling brook, and the kind of quiet that's hard to find nearer the towns. Meavy village, with its 12th-century church and the 800-year-old Royal Oak Inn, is half a mile away across the fields.
